In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old demos and tapes to release a special album called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans and the band embarked on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun The drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included recordings from the tour and an interview with the band.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the band is "Africa" which has over one billion views. The video is set in a library and shows the band performing in front of a pile of books about Africa.
